Extreme Makeover:  Spirit-filled life.

Long before ABC had the show, Jesus was all about doing extreme makeovers in people’s lives.  At the very start of His ministry we find Him saying, “Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Or to say this another way, “The kingdom is near and ready to do a extreme makeover in peoples situations.”
As you read this I pray the Holy Spirit would manifest His truth to you.  We can agree that Lazurus was dead and he needed a radical person to help him out.  And along came Jesus!!  Now, you may not need to be raised from the dead, but poverty is financial death, divorce is marriage death and unemployment is a career death.  There are lots of needs in our lives that need to go through the extreme makeover that only Jesus can bring.  John 10:10 tells us that the devil is all about stealing, killing and destroying but Jesus brings an abundant, fresh and brand new life.
Let’s examine the resurrection at Lazarus’s tomb for the five things that Jesus tells us are needed for our makeover.  Vs. 39- Take away the stone- We must decide that we the current situation must be destroyed and walk in the newness of life Jesus has for us.  Don’t hang onto your past, the good and bad of it but release it and press forward.  Vs. 40- Did I not say that if you would believe you would see the glory of God-  The Father is looking for the man, the woman and the church that He can show Himself strong for.  What do you need The Father to do for you.  If you follow Hebrews 11:6, all that is needed is for you to diligently seek Him and believe that He will reward you.  Vs. 41,42- Pray, Pray and PRAY-  How do you think the Father looks at you?  Jesus said that He knew the Father loved Him but it was because of the people that He said His prayer.  Don’t let others opinions of you bring you down.  They need what you are going after as much as you do.  Develop your dialogue with the Father by prayer and word study.  Vs. 43- Lazarus, come forth- Jesus loves you enough that He calls you by name for a specific destiny.  He knows what you need and He will do it for you.  Do you answer His call?  Realize that He will do an extreme makeover for you and the work is a custom masterpiece.  Vs. 44-  Loose him, let him go-  We are put in our spheres of influence to help others as they go through their extreme makeover.  Unlike the TV show instead of a vacation during the rebuild it is usually a very intense time of struggle.  We are here to help each other receive the glorious things in our extreme makeover.
